This project you will be making a simple switch. You will need 5 main things, paper clips, 2 types of paper fasteners, safety pins and printed parts.
Okay lets get started! After you have both the top and the bottom of the switch printed, you will need two small paper fasteners and two large paper fasteners. Take the the small paper fasteners first and place them through the square holes as seen in the pictures below. once through the holes bend one of the tabs over preventing it from sliding out on both the small paper fasteners. Next take the two large paper fasteners and bend one tab almost flat on both. The other tab you will need to cut down to about 3/16" from the main round part of the fastener. Again look at the pictures below for more detail.
After both the large paper fasteners are cut you will need to use some glue to glue them to the switch top which has two square holes on either side. You will place the cut side of the two large fasteners in these holes with glue this will secure them to the top of the switch. Then take your paper clip and bend a section strait. At the end of this clip bend a small 90 degree angel in the clip only about 1/8". The paper clip is the "RED" rod in the pictures below. After bending the stopper section, set the clip to the side for a moment.
Now take two safety pins out and form them into a spring. You will need to cut both ends off the safety pins. Insert the springs into the small holes on the switch base. Make sure you have one going left and one going right. Then take the paper clip and slide it through all the holes and both springs and bend another stopper angle. This will secure all the parts together and that's all there is to it! You are done with this simple switch!

Okay lets get started! After you have both the top and the bottom of the switch printed, you will need four small paper fasteners and four large paper fasteners. Take the the small paper fasteners first and place them through the square holes as seen in the pictures below. once through the holes bend one of the tabs over preventing it from sliding out on both the small paper fasteners. Next take the four large paper fasteners and bend one tab almost flat on both. The other tab you will need to cut down to about 3/16" from the main round part of the fastener. After all the large paper fasteners are cut you will need to use some glue to glue them to the switch top which has four square holes two on either side. You will place the cut side of the four large fasteners in these holes with glue this will secure them to the top of the switch. Then take your paper clip and bend a section strait. This project you will be building a simple lever switch that you can use to turn on many items from small light bulbs to motors to electromagnets or other things you wish to turn on. For this project you will need two 10-24 screws, two long paper fasteners and one paper clip.
To construct this project please follow the pictures below. However there is one difficult part which is putting in the paper fasteners in. For this you will need to slide them in at a angel and bend the head almost perpendicular to the legs. Use a good set of needle nose pliers to pull them through carefully.
Oh! and as a added feature of this project you don't have to tap any of the holes. Your printer will be doing the taping for you!

This project you will be making a simple switch. You will need 6 main things, paper clips, 2 types of paper fasteners, safety pins, 10-24 threaded 1/2" screws and printed parts.
Okay lets get started! After you have both the top and the bottom of the switch printed, you will need two small paper fasteners and two large paper fasteners. Take the the small paper fasteners first and place them through the square holes you will need to bend them some so that the screw will push these tabs to one side when you screw the screw in.
Next take the two large paper fasteners and bend one tab almost flat on both. The other tab you will need to cut down to about 3/16" from the main round part of the fastener. Again look at the pictures below for more detail. You will also need to cut down the longer side of these two papaer fasteners leaveing only about 1/4" inside the base or where it reaches the hole for a conductor.
After both the large paper fasteners are cut you will need to use some glue to glue them to the switch top which has two square holes on either side. You will place the cut side of the two large fasteners in these holes with glue this will secure them to the top of the switch. Then bring down the top of the switch and screw the screw up all the way to the top as you did with the other to smaller paper fasteners. This will bend the tabs inside the base.
Then take your paper clip and bend a section strait. At the end of this clip bend a small 90 degree angel in the clip only about 1/8". The paper clip is the "Yellow" rod in the pictures below.
